Therapy that goes beyond coping.
No two people experience life the same way, which is why I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Whether you're navigating the effects of trauma, struggling with anxiety, feeling disconnected from yourself, or finding it difficult to build the relationships you want, I can help you reach your goals and overcome your adversities.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy designed to help individuals process traumatic or distressing experiences that may feel “stuck” in the brain.
This process allows the brain to reprocess the memory, so it becomes less emotionally overwhelming.
Many people find that even when they understand their past logically, the emotional impact can still linger in the body and nervous system.
EMDR therapy is a research-supported approach that helps the brain process and heal from distressing experiences. Through EMDR, many clients experience a reduction in distress connected to past memories and begin to feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally free.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach to mental health treatment that recognizes the connection between physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, and life experiences.
When individuals experience trauma, chronic stress, emotional neglect, or overwhelming life events, the nervous system can become stuck in patterns of survival. These patterns may show up as:
Chronic anxiety
Panic attacks
Hypervigilance
Emotional overwhelm
Difficulty relaxing
Feeling disconnected from your body
Persistent tension or stress
Somatic therapy helps clients develop awareness of these patterns and learn how to respond to them in ways that promote healing and regulation.
Therapy for Women
Many women have very unique experiences that may have shaped how they view themselves or relate to others.
EMDR and Somatic therapy is often used to help women process experiences such as:
Childhood emotional neglect
Religious trauma/purity culture
Relationship patterns/insecure attachments
Chronic “people-pleasing” behaviors
Shame, guilt, or self-criticism
Birth trauma or post-partum issues
